(Original Caption) March 26, 1965 - Lowndesboro, Alabama: Muddy tracks show the path made through the pasture grass by the car in which Mrs. Viola Liuzzo, mother of five, was fatally hot on U.S. Highway 80 near here March 25, 1965. Note smashed window on the left side of the car. On March 26, 1965, the FBI arrested four Ku Klux Klansmen in connection with the slaying.
