Direct Current Electrostatic Generator
A man looks through a porthole of one of the two 15-foot spherical terminals of the Van de Graaff 10,000,000 volt direct current electrostatic generator, which has been built for MIT from the design of Dr. Robert Van de Graaff of the MIT department of physics. With this new million-volt electrostatic generator, physicists will be able to direct the greatest bombardment ever fired by science at the heart of the atom.
