Just Stop Oil activists target the Rokeby Venus by Diego Velázquez on the 6th of November 2023, Central London, United Kingdom. The activists broke the safety glass covering the painting using safety hammers, in the knowledge that the painting itself would be undamaged, and using emergency hammers as the World is in a climate emergency. The activists are calling for the UK government to end all new oil and gas licenses and to take drastic climate change action to avoid a future climate break down. In spite of all climate science the UK government has recently licensed more than 100 new oil and gas fields.
