HENRY I OF LORRAINE
Henry I of Lorraine or of Guise (1550-1588); eldest son of Francis of Guise, from 1569 he distinguished himself in the fight against the Protestants, fighting in Poitiers against Coligny admiral who believed responsible for the murder of his father. At the head of the Catholic League was the star of "War of the Three Henrys", in opposition to the Protestant Henry of Navarre, and initially allied with Henry III of France, who, however, finally allied with Navarre against him.
