(Original Caption) Henry Cabot lodge, Jr., (R), American Ambassador to the United Nations, adopts a patient pose as he talks with V. K. Krishna Menon at the U.N. the day before, Lodge was more than a little impatient with Menon and two other delegates who called a private meeting of more than 50 nations to which Lodge objected vigorously, was called to discuss the "package deal" for admitting 18 applicants for U.N. seats. The above meeting of Menon and Lodge took place as the Security Council met again to debate the admission issue.
