(Original Caption) Harry (Snub) Pollard (center), one of the greatest comedians of the pie throwing days of silent movies, has died of cancer, it was disclosed. Dr. Joseph Reiter said Pollard, colorful star of the old slapstick short comedies and one of Mack Sennett's original Keystone Kops, succumbed late Jan. 19th at Magnolia Park Hospital. He was 72. Pollard is shown with Bebe Daniels and Harold Lloyd (right) in a scene from one of his movie roles in this photo. From 1914 and well into the twenties, Pollard appeared in nearly 500 comedies.
