HOUSTON, TEXAS - DECEMBER 22: Goldrus Drilling Co. of Houston has completed the fabrication of one of the world's largest land drilling rigs, a unit capable of drilling to depths of more than 30,000 feet. The $4.5 million rig is scheduled to begin drilling in Louisiana shortly after the Christmas holidays. It will work for South Louisiana Production Co. in the deep Cretaceous play north of Baton Rouge. The rig, assembled at the Houston Systems Manufacturing Co. yard at 5022 Cullen Boulivard, for testing, is 183 feet tall. Goldrus Drilling, owned by Allen C. King and J. N.
