Former policeman Eugene de Kock (L), condemned to death and 289 years in prison for 87 crimes, makes his way behind former South African Minister of Police Adriaan Vlok (R), and his advocate Louis Visser (C) consulting at break, at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) hearing in Pretoria 21 July. Vlok and more than 30 other retired police officers applied for amnesty for their involvement in bombings in August 1988 of the South African Council of Churches (SACC) building, Khotso House (Peace House), trade union federation headquarters COSATU House and several other commercial cinemas around the country showing the film Cry Freedom based on the life of Black Consciousness leader Steve Biko.
