US-VOTE-INDIGENOUS-ARIZONA-NEVADA
First time voter Caiden John, of the Natvie American Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony on October 15, 2024 in Reno, Nevada. A century after they were first recognised as US citizens, many native Americans that AFP spoke to said they felt cut off from the political process. Neither candidate is talking about Native American issues, and neither has visited a reservation -- an own goal in a place like Nevada where the population of indigenous Americans dwarfs Joe Biden's 33,500 winning margin in the state in 2020. And in the absence of a visit, the same frustations that grip the rest of America are bubbling up. (Photo by Frederic J. BROWN / AFP) (Photo by FREDERIC J. BROWN/AFP via Getty Images)
