Fifteen-year-old writer Abigail Docherty goes over the script of her play "Listen to my Inside Mind" with one of its stars, veteran radio actor Maurice Denham, 78, in a BBc studio. She is one of 21 young playwrights whose work has been chosen for the BBC Radio Drama Young PLaywrights Festival. 25/07/02 Maurice Denham has died, aged 92 in Denville Hall nursing home in Northwood, Middlesex, from natural causes. Denham was one of Britain's most sought-after and versatile actors for well over half a century. Although often cast as an official or military officer, he played clowns, detectives, clergymen, spivs, aristocrats and tramps in 100 films and a myriad of television and radio performances. From Macbeth to the voices in the cartoon version of George Orwell's Animal Farm, he was in constant demand.
