Excelsior, MN., Thursday, 1/1/04. (left to right) Seeming to be walking on water, Bill Wenmark and Ernie Schroeder took the new years leap into Lake Minnetonka during the 14th annual On It and In It dive into the lake. Wenmark and Schroeder were amoung the eight divers who started the event 14 years ago when they cut a hole in Lake Minnetonka and took the new years plunge. The divers were divided into classes which featured the sharks with over 10 dives, barracudas with five to ten dives, muskies with four dives, northerns with three dives, walleyes with two dives, minnows with one dive and guppies with no dives. The event was started 14 years ago by Bill Wenmark and Ernie Schroeder and six other divers when they cut a hole in the ice on Lake Minnetonka and took the new years dip into the lake.
