A Confederate artillery crew fires a cannon blast during a reneactment Wednesday morning at Bear Creek Lake State Park, where students of Lakewood's Creighton Middle School performed the bloody battle of Fredericksburg in December of 1862. Union troops 14 times charged the Confereate lines on Prospect Hill, during that several days of battle, but the southern forces held each time at the wall. Union casualties numbered over 13,000 in the four day battle which had Maj. Gen. Ambrose Burnside leading his Army in retreat on Dec. 15th after the four days of battle against Gen. Robert E.
