Comedian and television personality Phill Jupitus at the premiere of the animated film Chicken Run, at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema, in London. * 10/03/02 Jupitus will take to the airwaves to launch 6 Music, the first new national BBC music station for 32 years. The comic will flick the switch for the station's birth when he goes on air at 7am tomorrow. Music fans have been given the chance to choose the first track to be played on the digital-only 6 Music with Oasis and Ash among the front runners to take the honour. The station aims to combine classic rock of the past four decades with contemporary tracks from hotly tipped new artists. Other regular presenters for the new station will include Jupitus's fellow Never Mind The Buzzcocks panellist Sean Hughes, VH1's Gideon Coe, ex-Radio 1 DJ Liz Kershaw, Radio 2's Janice Long, former chart star Tom Robinson and writer Andrew Collins.
