Margaret Tudor

Circa 1520, Margaret Tudor (1489 - 1541). Daughter of Henry VII of England, she married James IV of Scotland in 1503, became regent in 1513 on James' death at the Battle of Flodden Field. Her fourth son would become James V of Scotland. When she married Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus, in 1514 she was forced to give up the regency to John Stewart, Duke of Albany, and flee to England. Engraving by R Cooper after Holbein.
