(Original Caption) 6/9/1949-Chicago, IL- Probably the most disappointed man at the 49th Annual Open Golf Championship at Medinah Country Club was Ed "Porky" Oliver (L). He broke the No.3 course record with a 5-under-par 66 practice round, but failed to qualify in the trials which were held in Philadelphia. The putter which helped roll up the record is examined by Ted Rhodes (C), who shot a 68, and retired heavyweight champ Joe Louis, no mean golfer himself.
