Averell Harriman (left), Democratic candidate for Governor of New York, and Senator Irving Ives, Republican opponent, greet each other as they met on the reviewing stand at the parade honoring the memory of Polish General Casimir Pulaski, hero of the American Revolution, yesterday. Some 135,000 Polish Americans braved a soaking from the inconsiderate rain to march in the parade of Fifth Avenue.
