Bipartisan Legislators Introduce Bill To Fund The World Trade Center Health Program

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 28: U.S. Army veteran Nate Coward (C) joins other 9/11 first responders, advocates and members of Congress for a news conference to call for additional federal funding for people who were sickened by their work following the terror attacks at the U.S. Capitol on February 28, 2023 in Washington, DC. Stricken with a number of physical and metal illnesses due to his work at the Pentagon after 9/11, Coward was denied benefits that were offered to emergency workers who responded to the World Trade Center. Last year, lawmakers delivered $1 billion for the World Trade Center Health Program but this new legislation will address a long-term funding shortfall, allow excluded Pentagon and Shanksville responders to join the program and make technical corrections to the program.
