(Original Caption) An intensive search for the tanker Marine Sulphur Queen, which has been missing for a week continued, February 2nd. The Coast Guard revealed it has asked the State Department to check unconfirmed reports that the ship may have gone to Cuba. A Navy plane Guard also reported a Coast Guard cutter was dispatched to the area. This news map shows the search area. The tanker (represented by ship symbol) was last heard from a week ago after leaving Beaumont, Texas (1) for Norfolk, Virginia. (2) Maltese cross represents area near Jacksonville (3) where debris was sighted.
