Sordello at the court of Ezzelino III da Romano. Sordello da Goito (beginning of the 13th century - before August 30, 1269) was one of the most important Italian troubadours; he adopted the lingua d'oc for his texts. Ezzelino III da Romano (1194 - 1259) was a Ghibelline feudal lord in the Marche of Treviso. Despite his reputation for extraordinary cruelty, he also enjoyed singing and poetry.
