Shot taken by Louis Daguerre in a method invented by him. The daguerreotype is a photograph taken on a mirror-polished metal surface. For this purpose, silver-plated copper plates were usually used, usually 0.65 to 0.75 mm thick, which were sold by the manufacturers of silver-plated goods under the name silver plaque.
