Kaiserdeputation of the Frankfurt Parliament on April, 3rd, 1849 in Berlin, offering the title of German Emperor to Frederick William IV of Prussia. Although 28 German governments had endorsed the constitution and the election, Friedrich Wilhelm rejected it that same month. Wood engraving after a drawing (1891) by Otto Emil Lau (German painter and illustrator, 1853 - 1917), published in 1893.
