Fleet Street in the City of London, from Mitre Court to Temple Bar, with The Temple and River Thames. The narrow and traffic-limiting Temple Bar (one of the historic entrances to the City of London) was removed from this position in 1878 and re-erected at Theobalds Park in Hertfordshire where it remained until 2003: it is now sited at the entrance to Paternoster Square. In the far distance, the Crystal Palace can be seen on Sydenham Hill whence it was removed from Hyde Park following the Great Exhibition of 1851.
