Bad Kissingen, study of Otto von Bismarck - stock illustration

Otto von Bismarck spent several spa stays in Bad Kissingen from 1874 to 1893. A monument was erected in his honor during his lifetime. On July 13, 1874, the journeyman cooper Eduard Kullmann assassinated the Chancellor in front of the Kissinger Hof and fired two shots, which only resulted in a grazing shot on Bismarck's hand. Kullmann's motive for the assassination of Otto von Bismarck was his Kulturkampf against the Catholic Church. Illustration from 19th century.
