Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale (1864 - 1892) and his bride Mary of Teck (1867 - 1953), later wife of the British King George V. Prince Albert Victor died of an infectious disease at the age of 28, causing his younger brother to take his position and ascend the throne as George V after his father's death. At the request of Queen Victoria, George married his deceased brother's fiancée, Mary of Teck. Wood engravings, published in 1892.
