Bea Arthur Reminisces About Going to the Theatre When She Was Young
interviewer: Tell me about going to the movies as a kid. What kinds of films did you watch, what actresses did you like, etc.?
Bea: Always, of course, little blonde ladies who danced and sang, you know? Course I went to the movies every chance I got. We had one movie theatre in town, and every Saturday we would go to the movies there with uh, ah Buster Crabbe.
I am really dating myself now, am I not? But what the hell? My name’s been a long time. There was, yeah, serials, and then there were Westerns, there was Bob Steele I remember. But I loved-I loved things with Ginger Rogers and that kind of thing, you know? Glamour! Glamour! Beauty, you know?
