South Carolina Senator Tim Scott says in continuing floor remarks on the fifth anniversary of the Mother Emanuel Church shooting in Charleston that he was sitting in his office hours earlier when Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois talk about token legislation on a day to remember nine lives lost and reflect back on the fact he had on his phone asking friend Pastor Clementa Pinckney if he were okay but could not answer because he was already dead.
