Anti-Government Protests Continue Whilst Poland Rejects EU Stimulus Package
WARSAW, POLAND - NOVEMBER 18: Marta Lempart, one of the leaders of Poland's National Women's Strike delivers a speech during a street protest against the Constitutional Court ruling on tightening the abortion law next to the Parliament (SEJM) on November 18, 2020 in Warsaw, Poland. The country's constitutional tribunal recently ruled that terminating pregnancies due to serious, irreversible fetal defects is unconstitutional. The decision sparked a wave of protests against the ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) who has decided to delay the implementation of the Constitutional tribunal ruling. Just two days ago, Poland joined Hungary and vetoed the European Union historical €1.8tn budget and coronavirus recovery plan connected with rule of law mechanism.
