PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA - APR. 29: Kim Dong Chul, a Korean-American man who has been held in North Korea since October 2015, was sentenced to 10 years of hard labor on April 29, 2016, by the North's Supreme Court for carrying out what it described as espionage and subversion activities. The sentence comes amid a period of high tensions, ratcheted up by North Korea's recent nuclear and missile tests.
