(Original Caption) In a private ceremony at the official residence of the American Ambassador, Italian actress Anna Magnani receives her belated Oscar from publisher Henry Luce, standing in for his wife, Ambassador Clare Boothe Luce, who was ordered to the United States by her physicians to undergo a physical examination. The award was voted to the Italian star for her performance in the film, Rose Tattoo. Representatives of the Italian government and of the Italian and American Motion Picture Industry were present for the ceremony.
